The World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) carried out tree planting to celebrate the 100th Birth Anniversary of Christ Ahnsahnghong. On October 14, 2018, the volunteers worked together, planting the seedlings and mulching in unity for over an hour.

Lisa O’Mara, Treeforce coordinator, welcomed them with a bright smile. She provided an explanation how to properly prepare and plant to let the seedlings grow well. Treeforce started planting tree along the Freshwater Creek in 2015 to increase the density of the forest. They have a long term commitment to enhance a solid base and protect the forest surrounding Cairns.

Wooded mountains and valleys are vitally important to maintain their role as the lungs of the planet. Moreover, woodlands provide the habitat for bird and other wildlife. WMSCOG, as a part of the community, eagerly desires to share love, by working to sustain the God-given forest. Thus, WMSCOG, cooperating with Treeforce, participated in the tree planting campaign with great joy.

Tree Planting in Unity

Sharing responsibility, the volunteers took up their positions to distribute the fertilizer into each planting hole, plant, and mulch. Also, some of the volunteers conveyed a pile of dry wood conveniently, for mulching.

A little shower of rain from early morning wet the earth, making it ready for tree planting. Gracious clouds, indeed, gave their support to the good work, sheltering the volunteers from scorching sun.

Lizzie, a participant, said, “It’s amazing! Each tiny seedling that we plant today will grow into a huge tree, forming the base of a great forest. And I realized that to complete the work of tree planting,it requires much cooperation and unity.”

After the event, Ulum said, “Trees are essential for our living as they create oxygen. I’m so happy to work for the environment.”

Spreading the love of God the Mother

Lisa O’Mara, on behalf of Treeforce, expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you for your help for the community and the environment. I like your group so much! I’m looking forward to seeing you doing good work in the future as well.”

The Church of God in Cairns want to spread the love of God the Mother for the local community. Therefore, they plan to carry out continuous voluntary activities according to their faith in Mother’s thirteen teachings. Surely, they will increasingly be the salt and light in Cairns.
