The 5002nd Worldwide Cleanup Campaign

World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) in Brisbane and Gold Coast united to deliver Mother’s love to the community. Indeed, both churches of God have each been doing volunteer work in their local regions in Queensland for years. August 26, 2018, was truly special as they graciously held their first joint cleanup in Woogaroo Street, Forest Lake.

Brisbane volunteers gave a warm welcome to Gold Coast members who drove for over an hour specially to attend. However, Gold Coast volunteers did not mind the distance at all. Therefore, they traveled joyfully, being united in the will of God. Thirty-six members gathered with great excitement. They deeply appreciated the opportunity to shine the glory of Heavenly Father and Mother together.

Harmonious cooperation brought forth gracious results

Although the event started with fine weather, a refreshing shower of rain arrived during the cleanup. So, members continued to clean up the street with a joyful heart and united mind. In this blessed rainy weather, the event proceeded smoothly and successfully.

Volunteers found a lot of rubbish hidden in the bush beside Woogaroo Street. They cleaned about 4 km on both sides of the street. Stronger adult and youth members collected many heavy items. Then they delivered them by truck to the collection area. Other members also worked together to help unload everything from the truck. Volunteers collected about 300 kg of rubbish, even hard waste such as tires, sofa, and a fridge.

Nada, assistant of Brisbane Councillor, expressed her amazement seeing the amount of rubbish that the volunteers had picked up. Enthusiastically, she spoke words of appreciation, encouraging WMSCOG volunteers for their good efforts.

After joining the cleanup, Jerome Leota said, “Thanks to Heavenly Father and Mother for allowing me to feel the joy of helping others with today’s voluntary work. l will continually live a life pleasing to God, following their holy teachings.”

The sacrificial path of Father Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother has become example for WMSCOG volunteers in serving the community. This one mind action resounds throughout the world as a wakeup call for all mankind to serve and care for each other.
