The 3206th Worldwide Cleanup Campaign, Spring welcoming cleanup was held at Jack Roper Reserve

Getting rid of the cold winter and welcoming the spring, on August 28. Around 103 members of the World Mission Society Church of God held a cleanup campaign. It was held at the Jack Roper Reserve in Broadmeadows, Victoria in celebration of winning the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Award for Voluntary Service(QAVS) 2016.

The Jack Roper Reserve is set beside a lake. And it is one of the most popular parks according to the Hume City Council. The Deputy Mayor CR Chandra Bamunusinghe also participated in the cleanup. He presented a Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of the Hume City Council and encouraged the members, saying,
“The work that you do today will improve the experience of all families visiting the Park. On behalf of Hume City Council, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to each and every one of you and your local contribution to our community.”
Sharing God the Mother’s Love with their Neighbours
As much as the local residents enjoy their time at this park, maintaining efforts to clean up litter is necessary. This is the third cleanup that World Mission Society Church of God members carried out at this public open space to share God the Mother’s love with their neighbours. Within only two hours, members collected over 827kgs of rubbish gethered. Including heavy metal wastes such as trolleys, lawn mower, safe, car engine as well as other hard rubbish.
The Jack Roper Reserve is now ready for local residents to hold all kinds of outdoor activities in spring. Mete Samci, a local resident was moved and said,
“All the members of the Church of God, I would like to thank you for doing a very good job here, volunteering to help the community!”
