The 754th Worldwide Blood Drive to Give Life, Brisbane
April 27, 2017
The World Mission Society Church of God gathered at the Brisbane Blood Donor Centre on 27 April 2017. They held WMSCOG’s ‘754th Worldwide Blood Drive to Give Life Through the Love of the Passover’ to spread Christ’s love. Two thousand years ago Christ came to shine the light of life, starting in a small village called Galilee in Israel. To the souls who were trapped, wandering in the dark, He gave hope for heaven. Through Christ’s great atonement, He opened the way for human beings to receive the forgiveness of sins. He enabled humankind to walk on the heavenly stairway toward the world where there is neither pain, death, nor sorrow.
Christ’s love in New Covenant Passover
Shedding His blood on the cross, enduring extreme pain, Christ established the Passover of the New Covenant (Matthew 26:26-28, Romans 6:23). This feast contains the great love of God for all mankind. The night before His death, Christ said, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.” (Luke 22:15). The Passover of the New Covenant contains the promise not only of eternal life but also of the seal of God, protection from all disasters.
Just as Christ shed His blood to save mankind, so the members donated their blood. They hope to aid the blood supply, and help those who due to illness, are in need of blood transfusion. Pastor of the World Mission Society Church of God in Brisbane, Ezra Jeon, said, “The gift of blood is the gift of life. I feel so grateful today that through donating blood, I could offer help to people who urgently need blood. Apart from blood drives, our church has been conducting cleanup campaigns throughout the world.”
The members of the Church of God in Brisbane give thanks to God Elohim for giving them the precious opportunity to practise good actions. The Good Samaritan movement to save lives includes blood donation campaigns worldwide.
