Loving Musical Performances Touch Their Hearts – Concert for the Aged Care residents

3.7.2016 – Concert for the Aged Care residents

Uniting AgeWell Wyndham Vale, blossomed with high energy brought forth by the members of the World Mission Society Church of God. The members prepared a beautiful concert for the Aged Care residents starting at 1.30pm. For one hour the residents enjoyed the beautiful melodies of the Elohim orchestra, cultural dances, children’s dances, comic dances, and solo vocal performances.

Around 20 Aged Care residents attended to watch the performances prepared by 30 members of the World Mission Society Church of God.

The Elohim Orchestra started by playing four church New Songs. They are followed by a Samoan cultural dance, primary school girls’ dance to Lollypop, pre-schooler’s dance to ‘I’m Gonna Catch You’, followed by Elohim Ensemble playing ‘Serenade to Spring’, ‘Por Una Cabeza’ and solo vocal performance of ‘You Raise Me Up’ and ‘The Holy City’.

Feeling the love of God with bright smiling faces

Munita, a nurse at Uniting AgeWell Wyndham Vale, said “All the Aged Care residents look ready happy today, I think some of them are very lonely. When they see bright smiling faces and hear relaxing music, they feel the love of God.”

An Aged Care resident said “My favourite was the song ‘The Holy City,’ I just loved it”

A man visiting his relative, watched the concert and said

“I think it is fantastic! We enjoyed every aspect of the performances, the children’s dance, uplifting music, Samoan dance, very energetic! We appreciate your coming here. It’s a good way to help people. We look forward to seeing you again.”

The World Mission Society Church of God was presented a Certificate of Appreciation by Uniting AgeWell Wyndham Vale. The Church of God continuously shares the love of God the Father and God the Mother to their community members.
